Ambassador Li Minggang Meets with Assistant Foreign Minister for International Organizations of Kuwait Naser

On 2nd March 2020, Ambassador Li Minggang met with Naser Abdullah Al-Hayen, Assistant Foreign Minister for International Organizations of Kuwait, and exchanged views on bolstering cooperation in combating COVID-19 between China and Kuwait.

 

 

Ambassador Li said that, virus is a common enemy of humanity. So far China has produced positive results in countering the epidemic. China is working around the clock to allow time for global preparedness and provide ample experience in controlling the epidemic, which shows our confidence and capability to win the battle against COVD-19. The virus is still spreading, which requires international community’s collective support and cooperation to counter the outbreak. China feels for Kuwait over the existence of COVD-19 infection in Kuwait, and stands ready to maintain close communication and coordination with the Kuwaiti side and strengthen cooperation in combating COVD-19 to jointly preserve the safety and health of our two peoples as well as the global public health security.

 

For his part, Naser said that Kuwait has been closely following China’s control measures in combating COVD-19, and expressed Kuwait’s appreciation in China’s tremendous efforts made to contain the epidemic. It is pleased to hear that some positive results have been made in China, which fully indicates the correctness and effectiveness of China’s measures. Kuwait is willing to work with China and promote cooperation in order to prevail over the epidemic at an early date. Naser also stressed that Kuwait opposes any stigma and discrimination in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak.
