Ambassador Li Minggang Meets with Kuwait's eputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah

On 13th February 2020, Ambassador Li Minggang met with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Kuwait Khaled Al-Jarallah, and exchanged views on China’s efforts in preventing and controlling the novel coronavirus pneumonia.

 

 

Ambassador Li brought Jarallah up to date on China’s latest measures on countering the outbreak and the positive results therefrom, stressing that under the strong leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping, China has taken the most comprehensive and vigorous preventive and control measures to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, and such efforts are producing good results. China’s untiring efforts have won deep appreciations and broad support from international community. China has full confidence, capability and resources to prevail over the outbreak at an early date.

 

Li noted that, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and His Excellency the Foreign Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah have cabled or addressed letters to Chinese President Xi Jinping and their Chinese counterparts to pay tribute and express support to China in combating the epidemic. The Chinese side hopes that Kuwait would fully respect the WHO recommendations, adopt an objective and rational approach to the outbreak, and adjust the preventive measures appropriately to ensure the regular personnel and trade exchanges.

 

For his part, Jarallah said that Kuwait has been closely following up on the outbreak developments. He also expressed appreciation and admiration on the efforts made by China in controlling the outbreak, and voiced supports to China with confidence that the Chinese side will win the batter against the epidemic soon. Jarallah reaffirmed Kuwait’s keenness to provide all necessary assistance to China, notingthat the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait will maintain close communication with other Kuwaiti government bodies on the preventive measures to ensure regular personnel exchanges and practical cooperation in all fields between the two countries.
