Ambassador Li Minggang Meets with Kuwaiti Assistant Foreign Minister for Protocol Affairs Ajran

On 10th February 2020, Ambassador Li Minggang met with the Assistant Foreign Minister for Protocol Affairs of Kuwait Ambassador Dhari Al Ajran to exchange views on the novel coronavirus outbreak prevention and control

 

 

Ambassador Li briefed about the latest developments on the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus outbreak, stressing that with a high and unswerving sense of responsibility to the Chinese people and international community, the Chinese government has adopted the most comprehensive and rigorous preventive and control measures, which has been fully recognized and highly appreciated by the World Health Organization and many countries. Such efforts are producing positive results, and China has full confidence and capability to win the battle against the coronavirus. Having noticed Kuwait's recent entry restrictions imposed on Chinese citizens, the Chinese side hopes that Kuwait would fully respect the WHO recommendations, adopt an objective and rational approach to the outbreak, and adjust the preventive measures appropriatelyto ensure the regular personnel and trade exchanges, while refraining from excessive restrictions.

 

Ajran assured Kuwait’s support to China in the outbreak prevention and control, and highly commended China’s capability to contain the spread of the virus in a short timeframe and its wisdom shown during fighting the virus, believing that China will definitely prevail over the epidemic at an early date. Kuwait stands ready to provide all necessary assistance to China, and will keep close communication with other Kuwaiti government bodies on the outbreak prevention in order to reduce the impact brought by the outbreak.
