On 11th February 2020, His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent a cable ofcondolences to Chinese President Xi Jinping on the novel coronavirus outbreak.
In the cable, His Highness the Amir assured that Kuwait stands by the friendly People's Republic of China in this healthdisaster, while praising the preventive measures taken by the Chinese government to contain this virus, hoping speedyrecovery for the patients infected by the novel coronavirus.
His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim sent cables of condolences to Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress Li Zhanshu on the novel coronavirus outbreak respectivelyto express similar sentiments. Meanwhile, on 10th February, the Kuwaiti Cabinet expressed appreciation for China’s efforts to confront the virus and contain its spread, and assigned the Kuwaiti Ministry of F oreign Affairs to communicate with the Chinese officials on Kuwait’s contribution to supporting the Chinese friends in dealing with the outbreak.
