On March 2, 2024, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met with Vice Chairman of the China International Contractors Association (CHINCA) Mr. Xin Xiuming and his delegation. Hu Hanming, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy, was present at the meeting.

Ambassador Zhang noted that China-Kuwait relationship has grown even firmer over the years and practical cooperation between the two sides also has been deepened. The personal commitment and guidance of President Xi Jinping and Amir Mishal chart the course for future cooperation between the two countries. Both sides will better synergize the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the Kuwait Vision 2035, which means vast potential for cooperation in contracting engineering projects. The Chinese Embassy welcomes more Chinese enterprises to start and expand their business in Kuwait and supports the association in giving guidance to its members on pursuing high-quality development in Kuwait. This will bring win-win benefits to us and help make solid progress in bilateral practical cooperation.

Mr. Xin said the association and its members always pay high attention to the Kuwaiti market, adding that the delegation, consisting of 20 enterprises, is visiting the country to gather more market information and seek to explore cooperation opportunities. The association will give continuous guidance to enterprises on business model transformation and innovation-driven development in order to contribute to the upgrading of China-Kuwait relationship.
