On February 29, 2024, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met with President of China Gezhouba Group Mr. Liu Huailiang and his delegation. Hu Hanming, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy, was present at the meeting.

Ambassador Zhang pointed out that after years of dedicated efforts in the Kuwaiti market, many well-established and capable Chinese enterprises have gained recognition of various sectors in Kuwait. Guided by the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and Amir Mishal regarding the future development of China-Kuwait strategic partnership, China-Kuwait cooperation in various areas will be further deepened. He expressed the hope that Chinese enterprises including China Gezhouba Group will adhere to the principle of win-win benefits, upgrade their own development philosophy and summarize and popularize the experience of doing business in Kuwait, so as to contribute more to Kuwait’s economic growth and high-quality development of China-Kuwait relations.

Mr. Liu thanked the Chinese Embassy for its guidance and support, saying that over the past 20 years and more since its entry in the local market, China Gezhouba group has been engaged in the construction of multiple major livelihood projects in Kuwait. The group will continue to enhance exchanges and cooperation with the Kuwaiti side in the future and deliver high-quality projects to further reinforce its reputation, preserve the good image of Chinese businesses and serve the purpose of promoting practical cooperation between the two sides.
