On February 7, 2024, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met with General Representative for the Middle East and North Africa of the State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) Mr. Ma Chao and his delegation to hear the corporation’s observation of Kuwait’s new energy sector and its ideas about possible cooperation. Hu Hanming, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy, was present at the meeting.

Ambassador Zhang briefed the delegation on Kuwait’s economic and social development and China-Kuwait relationship, and pointed out that bilateral cooperation in the field of new energy embraces broad prospects. He encouraged the SPIC to play a positive role in Kuwait’s pursuit of green economy by delivering signature projects through the Belt and Road cooperation between China and Kuwait. The Chinese Embassy will continue to provide enterprises with assistance and support.

Mr. Ma expressed thanks to the Embassy for its guidance and support, saying that the corporation will increase communication and synergy with the Kuwaiti side and make positive contributions to closer practical cooperation between China and Kuwait.
