On January 15, 2024, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met with Chairman of Kuwait’s National Cybersecurity Center Engineer Mohammad Bouarki. They exchanged their opinions on efforts to deepen China-Kuwait cooperation in digital economy.

Ambassador Zhang noted that China attaches great importance to the growth of its digital economy which has been the global leader in terms of size. China and Kuwait are committed to advancing high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, which means our cooperation in digital economy, information technology, cybersecurity and other relevant fields has broad prospects. China stands ready to work with Kuwait for greater synergy in our development strategies and continue to roll out new cooperation measures on artificial intelligence and 5G technology. Doing so will further enrich China-Kuwait strategic partnership.

For his part, Mohammed pointed out that Kuwait also pays close attention to the development of digital economy and strives to reinforce the construction of information and communication technology infrastructure so as to drive the country’s transition to development models. He added that the Kuwaiti side is willing to enhance cooperation with China on information technology, cybersecurity and talent training in order to produce more new fruits through bilateral cooperation in digital economy.
