On December 5, 2023, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met with Chairman of the International University in Kuwait (IUK) Dr. Barakat A. Al-Hudaiban. They exchanged their opinions on enhancing educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Kuwait. Ambassador Zhang also attended the International Culture Week event organized on the campus.

Ambassador Zhang said strengthening educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Kuwait is an important step to implement the consensus reached between the leaders on closer bilateral relationship. The Chinese Embassy in Kuwait is ready to enhance exchanges with IUK and promote educational cooperation between the two countries and interactions between our youths, so as to instill new life in the further growth of China-Kuwait relations.

Dr. Barakat praised the rapid changes taking place in China, saying that IUK is willing to boost cooperation in language teaching and culture with the Chinese side in order to give its students more opportunities to better understand China and engage in inter-cultural exchanges. This will be conducive to advancing the friendly relations between the two nations.

Dr. Barakat also took Ambassador Zhang on a tour of cultural booths that were set up during the International Culture Week to offer a glimpse of distinctive cultures of various countries.
