On November 23, 2023, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met with several Palestinian patriots residing in Kuwait. They exchanged their opinions on the current situation in Gaza.

Ambassador Zhang briefed them on China’s active efforts toward ceasing the hostilities and easing the humanitarian situation in this round of Palestinian-Israeli conflict, pointing out that the question of Palestine is at the heart of the Middle East issue. President Xi Jinping reaffirmed at the Extraordinary Joint Meeting of BRICS Leaders and Leaders of Invited BRICS Members on the Situation in the Middle East with Particular Reference to Gaza that there can be no sustainable peace and security in the Middle East without a just solution to the question of Palestine. China is ready to work with the international community toward an early solution to the question of Palestine that is comprehensive, just and sustainable.

The Palestinian patriots highly praised China’s endeavors to uphold justice on the question of Palestine and its firm support for the Palestinian people’s just cause, and appreciated the tremendous efforts made by the leader, government and people of China to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and ease the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. They expected China to play a bigger role in resolving the question of Palestine and ensuring international fairness and justice.
