On September 7, 2023, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met with Kuwaiti Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi. Hu Hanming, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy, was present at the meeting.

Ambassador Zhang briefed the minister on economic and social development of China, and noted that as China-Kuwait strategic partnership continues to grow, our cooperation in various fields have become deeper and our traditional friendship has been strengthened at the same time. In this process, our cooperation in medical and health care have played a major role. China is ready to work with Kuwait to well implement the consensus reached by the leaders of our two countries and lift bilateral cooperation in healthcare and other sectors to new heights, which will bring more benefits to the two peoples.

For his part, Ahmed commended the remarkable achievements China has accomplished. He stressed the close ties and longstanding friendship between Kuwait and China and considered health cooperation as one of cooperation highlights. The meeting between the leaders of the two countries provides a strong momentum to future bilateral relations, he observed, hoping that Kuwait will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China to further improve the quality of medical services in Kuwait.
