On September 30, 2021, Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Li Minggang met with Kuwait’s new acting Assistant Foreign Minister for International Organizations Abdulaziz Saud AlJarallah.

The Covid poses multiple challenges as it is still raging across the globe, Ambassador Li said, adding that the Global Development Initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the General Debate of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly aims at addressing the most pressing issues faced by developing countries and provides developing countries with a guide for prioritizing common development with unity. China stands ready to work hard with Kuwait to drive global cooperation on development and jointly promote the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind, he noted.

For his part, Abdulaziz said that the Covid-19 pandemic tells us that no country can stay immune from a grave crisis. Kuwait values the Global Development Initiative put forward by President Xi Jinping, and applauses China’s efforts to promote multilateral cooperation as well as world peace and development. Kuwait will continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation with China in multilateral fields and call on the international community to meet global challenges together for a shared, bright future, he said.
