Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait: the "Belt and Road"Initiative has put China-Kuwait Cooperation on a fast track


Kuwait city, Xinhua News Agency, April 25th, H.E. Ambassador Li Minggang said that in recent years, the cooperation between China and Kuwait has entered the fast lane under the guidance of joint construction of the “Belt and Road”.



Ambassador Li said in an exclusive interview with Xinhua News Agency that Kuwait was the first country to sign a cooperation document on joint construction of the “Belt and Road” with China. Kuwait highly recognizes and actively responds to the “Belt and Road” initiative, and considers that this initiative is highly aligned with “Kuwait Vision 2035” which aims to turn Kuwait into a world financial and trade center, and regards the “Silk City and the Five Islands” project as major docking projects. China is also willing to use its industrial strength, rich experience in the construction of economic parks and free trade zones to provide reference for the planning, construction and operation of Kuwait's “Silk City and the Five Islands” project, and use the Chinese wisdom to help the Kuwaiti people realize their pursuit for a better life.

In July last Year, China and Kuwait established a strategic partnership. Ambassador Li said that this new positioning reflects the great potential and strong willingness of the two countries to strengthen cooperation, it will guide and guarantee the in-depth development of bilateral relations from a higher level and lead the two countries to achieve more results in joint construction of the “Belt and Road” cooperation.

Ambassador Li expressed his belief that with the holding of the second “Belt and Road” forum for international cooperation, the “Belt and Road” will bring more tangible benefits to participating countries including Kuwait.
